Could you tell us more about Winter Sakura and the inspiration behind it?

Inspiration comes from our life, for example when we have a difficult time, we try to get better and improve. When the sakura tree is dying, a man tried to restore itís life. I tried to portrait the mutability of the world.

What is one of your favorite games from an artistic perspective?

Metal Gear Solid is an artistic masterpiece for sure.

What is your favorite art style or medium and why?†

Definitely 3D Modlling. I started my career as a 3D artist. I love thinking in three-dimensional shapes. It is like my brain prefers viewing the world in 3D rather than 2D.

Could you tell us more about your journey in how you became a game artist?

I always enjoyed being creative. I learned film making at first when I came to UK. Then I learned product design at the college, and I had the chance to see 3D computer animation back in 1997. It was fascinating and l Ioved the process. Soon after graduation I sent my portfolio to various game developers, simply because I enjoyed the freedom of creativity in game art.†

Do you have any tips you would give to aspiring artists?

I was born and raised in Japan but, spent half of my life living abroad. Travelling can inspire you to see things differently.
